There are lots of different ways to travel into and around the city for leisure or shopping

If you are coming to Oxford for leisure, pleasure or shopping, there are many ways you can travel to and around Oxford without using a private car.

By park and ride

There are five park and ride sites on the outskirts of Oxford and the Eynsham park and ride will open in 2025.

By motorbike or moped

Motorbikes and mopeds are automatically exempt from traffic filters.

By car club

Car clubs are short-term rentals, usually by the hour. Some car clubs can apply for a permit for unlimited travel through the traffic filters. Check with the car club before you book.

Everywhere in Oxford will be accessible by private car, but you may need to take a different route if you do not have a permit.

You can use one of your day passes to drive through a filter if you are an Oxfordshire resident. 

If you are a Blue Badge holder or drive a disabled class vehicle, you can apply for a permit that allows for unlimited travel through the filters.
