Activity volunteer

Organising and running activities in Oxfordshire Libraries for customers of all ages and interests.

About the role

Activity volunteers are willing to run an activity in a library, or to act as a support for staff when they are doing so.  The role will be helping to generate ideas for activities/events that could interest members of the public, and then helping to plan, promote and run them under the supervision of the library staff.

What we need from you

We are looking for someone who loves being part of a team and can be positive when working with customers and promoting events in the library.  Activities can include everything from crafting for children to author talks, and activity volunteers will be flexible and keen to help support a range of different library events.

We will ask for a reference when you apply for the role, and you will need to be at least 18 years old.

What you can expect from us

We value all our volunteers and our commitment to you is spelled out in our Library Volunteer Charter (pdf format, 92Kb).  We will be flexible and supportive and staff will be on hand to help when you are volunteering in our libraries.  We will provide training for you before you start the role.
