Colour by Oxford Textile Artists

The Oxford Textile artists are holding their third exhibition at the Oxfordshire Museum in Woodstock.  The previous two proved very successful.

This year, the group selected the title 'Colour'. This is a broad topic, and everyone has their own meaning. It has produced lively discussions, and seeing the group's varied exhibits will be exciting.

This year, a section of textile art in the exhibition will take its inspiration from items in the Oxfordshire Museum collection.  Members have enjoyed visits to the museum and its extensive store in Standlake to select items that inspire them to create a unique piece of work. We hope to have the actual item beside each exhibit and a photo of the item if that is not possible.

We hope visitors to this exhibition will experience some of the joy and pleasure we have had from producing this work. As usual, the exhibition presented many challenges, but we have again greatly benefited from the experience of working together and sharing our passion for textiles. It reinforced the aims of our group from its beginnings in 1993, which was to share skills, experience, and a love of textiles.
