Contractor parking permit

Apply for a contractor parking permit

Who can apply for a contractor permit

Contractors permits are available to tradespersons or businesses who can demonstrate a clear operational need for their commercial or non-commercial (i.e. a vehicle created and adapted to carry goods) vehicle to be parked in a restricted area whilst work is undertaken.

You will be required to advise us of the details of the work to be undertaken including the need for regular access to tools or equipment.

How long it takes

Minimum notice for applications is five working days prior to the date the permit is required to start. Applications that are received late will be processed as soon as possible. The application can take up to 48 hours to process.

Where can you park

The permit will be valid for parking in Permit Parking and Residents Permit Parking Places only.

Where can't you park

Unless instructed otherwise the permit will not be valid for parking:

  • Double yellow lines
  • Single yellow lines
  • Free bays
  • Pay and display bays
  • Loading bays

Permit costs

  • 1 week £31.50
  • 2 weeks £63
  • 3 weeks £94.50
  • 4 weeks £126

The charge will be applied at a flat rate (exclusive of tax) regardless of the number of days the permit is required. So, the charge for one day will be the same as a one week (7 days) permit.

Applicants with a business requirement to visit addresses across the city may request additional permits for other zones they intend to visit in a given week. A separate charge will apply for each contractors permit that falls within a different zone.
